Reading Handwriting 101 In-Person
This in-person library program is hosted by: HPL’s Houston History Research Center and Family History Research Center.
Location details: 5300 Caroline St. Houston, TX 77004. Parking is available onsite.
Preservation Week celebrates the physical preservation of library and archival materials. But, often just as important, is the preservation of information. So much information can be lost due to changes in common writing styles over the years. This program will cover helpful ways to read historic handwritten documents, how to transcribe and abstract information from those documents, and preservation tips for protecting handwritten materials.
