Reading Local: Julie Gianelloni Connor In-Person

Join us as we have a conversation with local author Julie Gianelloni Connor as she discusses her award-winning book, Savoring the Camino de Santiago: It's the Pilgrimage, Not the Hike. This book is based on the author’s pilgrimage in 2016 via the French route from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, a journey of some 500 miles.

Author, publisher, world traveler, retired senior Foreign Service Officer--Julie started out as a writer, became a diplomat, and is now back to writing. She founded a micro-press, Bayou City Press, in Houston in 2019. Her first book, Savoring the Camino de Santiago: It’s the Pilgrimage, Not the Hike, has won five awards. Her second book, a children’s book entitled The Baby with Three Families, Two Countries, and One Promise, has also won awards. Bayou City Press focuses on travel, international affairs, history, and books with a Houston connection.
