Hear from the award-winning poet and author Benjamin Alire Sáenz for our Teens Summer Reading Author series! Enjoy a critical conversation between Mr. Saenz and Margot Backus on the widely acclaimed Aristotle and Dante book series, a story of two Mexican-American boys who fall in love. Following their conversation Mr. Saenz will give us a demonstration of his interactive and colorful style of art.
Brazos Bookstore will be onsite selling books and Mr. Saenz will sign books following the conversation.
Author Bio
Benjamin Alire Sáenz is the award-winning author of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, which was a Printz Honor Book, the Stonewall Award winner, the Pura Belpré Award winner, the Lambda Literary Award winner, and a finalist for the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award. He has also written numerous other award-winning children's, teen, adult, and poetry books.
He is a retired Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Texas in El Paso as well as an artist.
Registration is required and will open two weeks before the event. Every member of your group must be registered.
