Liturgy of Remembrance Performance In-Person
Come and see education expressed in the form of dance! Nia's Daughters Movement Collective, under the direction of Stacey Allen, will provide an educational performance entitled Liturgy of Remembrance, which commemorates the lived histories of enslaved Africans who learned of their freedom under the Freedom Tree in Fort Bend County. This performance will be paired with Our Stories Through Textiles: Quilting and More, facilitated by a quilting instructor, and participants will learn about the rich history of quilting African American history and begin their own quilts.
The performance will take place at the Stimley-Blue Ridge Neighborhood Library, located in the Fort Bend Houston Complete Community.
This performance is being made possible by Outreach Strategists and the Complete Communities Civic Leadership Development (CCCLD) project, which is funded through the Houston Health Department.
