Exhibit Opening Reception for "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants"

Exhibit Opening Reception for "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants" In-Person

Join the Houston Public Library to celebrate the opening of the exhibit Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants on display at the Julia Ideson Building Gallery from July 15, 2023 to September 27, 2023.

In Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants, a powerful new collection of oil paintings and stories, President George W. Bush spotlights the inspiring journeys of America’s immigrants and the contributions they make to the life and prosperity of our nation. Through 43 powerful four-color portraits — personally painted by the President himself — and their accompanying stories, Out of Many, One reminds us of the countless ways in which America has been strengthened by those who have come here in search of a better life.

Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants is a collection of portraits by President George W. Bush on loan from the Ambassador and Mrs. George L. Argyros Collection of Presidential Art at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-profit organization. The Bush Institute-SMU Economic Growth Initiative, part of the broader George W. Bush Institute, has an extensive portfolio of work on immigration.
