African American Read-In In-Person

The African American Read-In (AARI) is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering on African American books and authors. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. This initiative has reached more than 6 million participants around the world. 

We invite YOU our customers and community members to participate in an African American Read-In on Wednesday 2/21/2024  at 5:30pm -7:00pm at Stimley Blue Ridge Library. This is event is for all ages. If you are interested in reading, please call Blue Ridge Libaray at 832-393-2370 by 2/14/2024. 

Registration is required whether you are reading or not.
