The movie Hidden Figures (PG-13) tells the story of a group of African-American female mathematicians who worked at NASA during the space race between the United States and Russia. These women, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson, had exceptional talent that was previously untapped. They overcame gender, race, and professional boundaries to achieve one of the greatest operations in U.S. history, surpassing any previous human accomplishments. Their incredible intelligence and determination to dream big make them true American heroes who have left a significant mark on U.S. history. The movie is an adaptation of a non-fiction book authored by Margot Lee Shetterly.
