African American Read-In

African American Read-In In-Person

The African American Read-In (AARI) is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering on African American books and authors. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. This initiative has reached more than 6 million participants around the world.

We invite YOU our customers and community members to participate in an African American Read-In on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Carnegie Neighborhood Library & Center for Learning.
