"A Story and a Song" with Mountain Sam Wheelock

Do you want to see a one-man stage show? Join us as we hear "A Story and a Song" with Mountain Sam Wheelock!  "A Story and a Song" is about life as a child in the mountains of eastern Tennessee...the grandson of a convicted moonshiner.  The soundscape is modern electric folk music layered with Mountain Sam Wheelock's personal memoir.  Attendees of all ages are invited to take part in this exciting event!

This event is free and open to the public.

About Mountain Sam Wheelock

Sam Wheelock is an authentic part of the heritage of the music of the southern Appalachians. In addition to being active in the evolution of the art form, his knowledge of the history of the music is rather pronounced from personal experiences. Credits include involvement in the Grammy nominated radio series "Tennessee's Mountain Heritage" (produced by Richard Bleaustein), major films like the "Adams Family" and Robert Rodriguez's/Quentin Tarantino's "From Dusk Till Dawn", prime time network shows for ABC Productions, advertising awards as the staff music composer for Cox Communications (properties like AutoTrader, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Palm Beach Post et al) and currently in reruns on a couple hundred PBS television stations as part of “Song of the Mountains' which will also air on sixty NPR affiliates... and I just performed on WDVX's acclaimed radio series "The Blue Plate Special".
