What is a genealogist to do when there are no birth, marriage, or death records to use in identifying their ancestor? Use circumstantial evidence!
The Family History Research Center at Clayton Library is proud to welcome professional genealogist and renown speaker Judy Russell, J.D., GC, CGL. She will present "Bringing Josias Home: tracing a man who died in Texas in 1870 back to his North Carolina parents". Judy will be sharing invaluable information regarding how to search for the elusive ancestor that left behind no vital records. This presentation will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams on Saturday April 12th, 2025 starting at 11am CST.
The Legal Genealogist® Judy G. Russell is a genealogist with a law degree who writes and lectures on topics ranging from using court records in family history to understanding DNA testing. An internationally-known lecturer and award-winning writer, she holds credentials as a Certified Genealogist® and Certified Genealogical Lecturer℠ from the Board for Certification of Genealogists®.
