African American Read-In In-Person

Join us for the African American Read in at Smith Neighborhood Library!

This inspiring event celebrates African American Literature and authors while bringing our community together through the joy of reading. Established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers (NCTE), the Read-In has connected more than 6 million participants worldwide and is a highlight of Black History Month. We invite YOU our customers and community member to participate in an African American Read-In 5:30pm on February 11, 2026, at the Smith Neighborhood Library. If you are interested in reading, please send an email to vera.thomas@houstontx.gov by February 4, 2026.
