We Are The Makers In-Person
The Houston Public Library invites you to join us for our monthly program “We are the Makers”
Discover new ways to learn, create, innovate, and challenge yourself through hands-on maker experiences. Throughout the year, participants will have opportunities to explore projects such as screen printing, life-casting, and much more.
This Month's Project: Coiled Baskets
Discover the art of coiled basket weaving by creating your own decorative and functional basket. Learn the basics of shaping, stitching, and wrapping coils using fiber materials while exploring techniques that have been used in basketry traditions around the world. Customize your basket with your choice of colors and patterns and leave with a handcrafted piece that's perfect for organizing small items or display in your home.
Whether you're new to making or an experienced creator, we welcome you to join us for an engaging and creative experience.
