African American History Research Series In-Person

Join us for the Spring Research Series, featuring engaging presentations and discussions on how to conduct research at the African American History Research Center (AAHRC). This series is designed to teach you how to research with our collections using primary resources, Black Newspapers, and Funeral Programs.

Dive into African American History and learn how to unlock its stories through the AAHRC's rich collections. This series will introduce you to the Center's mission and resources, show how funeral programs reveal family and cultural connections, explore the power of primary sources like letters, photos, and oral histories, and highlight the impact of Texas-Based Black Newspapers in sharing community narratives.
