Art of Duck and Moose AND Squiggle Party

Art of Duck and Moose AND Squiggle Party

TWO EXHIBITS IN ONE SPACE!

Art of Duck & Moose: From Sketch to Book

Art of Duck & Moose: From Sketch to Book is a behind-the-scenes look at author/illustrator Kirk Reedstrom’s early graphic novel series Duck and Moose. This exhibition showcases the time, care, and dedication Reedstrom invested in creating his four-book series. Visitors embark on a visual journey starting from initial sketches and early drafts of the cover, title, and storyboard, to the final product. Despite their differences, Duck and Moose demonstrate the power of friendship, compromise, and imagination, inspiring young readers to be kind and accept others’ differences. Witness the transformation of this unlikely pair as they take on thrilling adventures and become lifelong friends.

Squiggle Party: A Doodle Experience

Squiggle Party! is an interactive exhibit featuring story and writing prompts based on D. W. Winnicott’s Squiggle Gameexercise and cartoonist Lynda Barry’s creative process. Visitors will see seven prompt pieces, which include a squiggle, a character based on the squiggle, and the finished illustration. A “squiggle wall” invites participants of all ages to create their own doodles and leave their imaginative mark in the exhibit.
