Resonance: From Archive to Art — Portraits of Asian American Resilience In-Person

Presented by the Asian American Art and Culture Initiative (AAACI) in celebration of America's 250th Anniversary and Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Resonance draws on archival research from the Houston Asian American Archive and Austin History Center to explore the lives of pioneering Asian Texans Joe Lung and Inez Lung Lee through live performance, artist dialogue, and their descendants.

The program also introduces a documentary film currently in development, expected in 2027-2028.

About Asian American Art and Culture Initiative (AAACI): Founded to address gaps in public representation, the Asian American Art & Culture Initiative advances visibility for Asian American history through art, archives, and community-centered research. AAACI develops Asian American oral history projects and maintains an Asian American archive that supports education, scholarship, and public engagement. Through Asian American art and public humanities programming, the organization connects scholars, artists, and communities to foster dialogue and a more inclusive understanding of American history.
