Health Literacy Basics! In-Person

Health Literacy Class

Build confidence in navigating everyday health information in our FREE Health Literacy Classes for adults. These classes are part of our Adult Literacy program, which offers learning opportunities in Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, and Basic Literacy & ELL.

This Health Literacy offering provides participants a broad introduction to understanding health information and identifying reliable resources that support informed decision‑making.

Participants explore ways to recognize trustworthy sources, learn how to find community health services, and gain a general understanding of how to access information that supports their well‑being. The goal is to help adults feel more comfortable and confident when engaging with health information in their daily lives.

Our welcoming and supportive environment is perfect for job seekers, lifelong learners, older adults, and anyone who wants to feel more empowered in making informed choices about their health.

For questions, please contact the Mayor's Office for Adult Literacy at 832-393-0308.
