Chen Zong Ho 'Retrospect and Prospect' Exhibit Reception and Book Donation In-Person
Join the Houston Public Library to celebrate the opening of the exhibit 'Retrospect and Prospect: The Changes of Taiwan's Landscape -- Chen Zong Ho’s Watercolor Depictions of Taiwan Scenery', on display at the Central Library Gallery from May 7 - July 28, 2022.
The Houston Public Library celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and the 61st anniversary of the Houston-Taipei Sister Cities relationship with an exhibition of Chen Zong Ho’s watercolor paintings of Taiwan. Chen Zong Ho’s watercolor works depict the beautiful scenery, valuable history, and changing landscape of Taiwan from the 1970s to the 2000s.
A short video will present the origins of Taiwan’s watercolor paintings and Chen Zong Ho’s efforts in the fine arts in the early days of Taiwan.
The book donation includes the following titles:
- Raised by Wolves - Poems and Conversations by Amang, translated by Steve Bradbury
- The Stolen Bicycle by Wu Ming-Yi
- My Enemy's Cherry Tree by Wang Ting-Kuo
- Notes of a Crocodile by Qiu Miaojin, translated by Bonnie Huie
- The Tree Fort on Carnation Lane by Horace Ho, translated by Darryl Sterk
- The Lost Garden by Li Ang
