SUMMARY:Houston History Research Center Presents: Aquatic Book Rescue!
DESCRIPTION:Anyone who has lived in Houston and Southeast Texas for any
length of time knows how common flooding can be\, and just how easy it can
be to lose your books and personal papers to water damage. Whether the
water damage comes from rain\, flooding\, or extensive humidity\, the
effect on your important records can be severe. To finish this year’s
Preservation Week programming\, the Houston History Research Center will be
hosting a workshop that will cover typical sources of water damage and how
to prevent and respond to this damage. There will also be a practical
demonstration on how to properly care for books and documents that are
 still wet.
