SUMMARY:Through a Diamond: Celebrating the Legacy of Japanese American Baseball
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nThe National Japanese American Baseball Exhibit is 
 created by a partnership between the Japanese American Citizens League 
 (JACL) and the Nisei Baseball Research Project.\n\nThrough this traveling 
 exhibit\, we want to celebrate the legacy of the Japanese American baseball 
 pioneers who paved the way for the current baseball stars from Japan\, and 
 to show how Japanese American Baseball helped to heal our community and 
 enhanced diplomatic relations between the United States and Japan. We also 
 want to celebrate the athletic achievements of Japanese and Japanese 
 Americans\, and to create a new narrative that Asians and Asian Americans 
 can become\, and many already are\, world-class athletes. Additionally\, we 
 hope to gently educate the American public about Japanese American history 
 so that there will be less prejudice and discrimination against Asians and 
 Asian Americans in the United States.\n\n \n\nAbout the Japanese American 
 Citizens League (JACL) and the Nisei Baseball Research Project 
 (NBRP)\n\nFounded in 1929 with nearly 100 chapters across 35 states\, the 
 Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) is the oldest and largest Asian 
 American civil rights organization in the United States. JACL's ongoing 
 mission is to secure and maintain the civil rights of Japanese Americans 
 and all others who are victimized by injustice and bigotry. The leaders and 
 members of the JACL also work to promote cultural\, educational\, and 
 social values and preserve the heritage and legacy of the Japanese American 
 community.\n\nThe Nisei Baseball Research Project (NBRP) is a non-profit 
 organization founded to preserve the history of Japanese American
